About 1000 Islands Cruise Canada

This is an independent guide to one thing: booking a 1000 Islands cruise Canada side, from the five Ontario ports between Kingston and Brockville. We sell nothing, hold no bookings and run no boats. What we do is read each operator's listing line by line, check the Canadian-dollar fares against what the ticket window charges, and say where a sailing disappoints people. Why this site exists

Search for a cruise here and you get five operators, each selling its own dock as though it were the only one. None of them will tell you that the one-hour sailing out of Gananoque never reaches Boldt Castle while the one-hour out of Ivy Lea does, at the same price. None will mention that a passport is mandatory on the stopover boats and irrelevant on every Kingston departure. None will compare their fare to the one 20 km down the road.

All of that is public. It is in the operators' own listings, in their FAQ pages and in the small print of their booking terms. Putting it side by side, with the numbers, is the whole job of this site.

Where the facts come from

Fares, durations, ratings and review counts come from the operators' own GetYourGuide listings, read on the date printed under the hero. Canadian-dollar rates come from the operators' own websites, which is what you pay at the dock. Border and documentation rules are quoted from the listings that carry them, because those are the terms the operator enforces at the gangway.

Distances are road distances along Highway 401 and the 1000 Islands Parkway. Temperature and daylight figures are long-run averages for the Kingston area at 44°N. Reviews quoted on this site are verified bookings, with the reviewer's own date left on them.

What we get wrong

Prices move. Schedules thin out in shoulder season without warning, castle stopover dates change, and an operator can retire a sailing mid-year. Everything here carries the date it was checked so you can judge how stale it is.

How the site pays for itself

Links to the booking platforms are affiliate links. If you book through one, the platform pays us a commission and you pay the same price you would have paid going direct. That is the only revenue here: no operator pays for placement, no listing is ranked higher for money, and the cruises we say are the wrong ticket carry the same links as the ones we recommend.
